Walking team names: 70 ideas for step challenges

A team name does more work than it looks. It is what people see on the leaderboard every morning, what the group chat gets called, and the first joke the team shares. The best ones are short enough to fit on a phone screen, easy to say out loud, and a little bit about the people in the team.
Every name below is free to use. Pick one, change a word to fit your team, or use them to spark your own.

How to pick a name
- Keep it short. Leaderboards and phone screens cut long names off. Three words or fewer is safest.
- Say it out loud. If it is awkward to say in a meeting, it will not get used.
- Make it about the team. A name that points to your office, your town or your dog beats a generic pun.
- Keep it kind. Names that tease other teams or people’s fitness can sting. Aim the joke at walking, not at anyone in it.
- Check with the team. A quick vote of three options takes a minute and gives everyone a stake.
